Joy

'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the
least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

I don't even know where or how to begin to describe the events of the past 10 days.  I knew it would be life changing, that my eyes would be opened in countless ways.  I struggle to find the words to describe our trip to others who were not there.  I will post pictures as soon as I can, however, even they do not convey the rich beauty of our experience.  While we were in Bulgaria we called home and were told to "have fun" on our mission trip.  I was put off, have fun? really?  Did they not realize we were visiting orphans, fun?  Did they not get that we were seeing heartbreaking situations that ripped at our hearts?  As the week progressed we did have fun, we played with the orphans, sang, laughed.  The last night while we were sharing our feelings about the trip I shared my annoyance by the comment regarding "having fun", a dear woman from our group said yes, what we had done that week was fun, we brought joy to our Heavenly Father by bringing joy to the "least of these" the orphans.

I encourage you to seek out a way to support missions, you could go on a mission trip or pray for the countless missionaries who are selflessly giving of themselves to bring glory to Him.  There is not a more amazing way to find joy and fun than to step out of your comfort zone and reach out to the suffering.  God bless you as you seek joy,
