Merci Beaucoup!

Thank you Shannan for reminding us of God's Business.
For making us aware of where we need to trust God in our lives.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey of life with the rest of us,
you are a true inspiration and an amazingly gifted writer.
And
Thank you to Patty for sharing your incredible talents of prose and photography.
It is a blessing to have you nearby and to be able to witness how
God is readying you for the next chapter of your journey with Him
Merci Beacoup
with a big ole Mississippi accent to both of you
from the bottom of my humbled heart.
Thank you for sharing on your blogs about our mission trip to Uganda
I just love y'all to pieces!

Thank you also for all you dear souls who are praying for our mission team and who have supported us financially.
To quote another blogger, "Sometimes we make the things we do all about us, how courageous or faith filled, (but others) quietly get on with doing what God is asking.... Just like it is quite normal and expected, sometimes hard going."
My hope is that I never came across as making this awareness of our Uganda trip about how we should be praised for our faithfulness or die hard courage (so lacking in both).  My prayer is that all the glory goes to God and that we can serve the orphans in Uganda with willing hearts and obedient hands.
This is from the March 11 devotional of Jesus Calling, a wonderful devotional book by Sarah Young:
"WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT.
As you take steps of faith, depending on Me, I will show you how much I can do for you.
If you live your life too safely, you will never know the thrill of seeing Me work through you.
When I gave you My Spirit, I empowered you to live beyond your natural ability and strength.
That's why it is so wrong to measure your energy level against the challenges ahead of you.
The issue is not your strength but Mine, which is limitless.
By walking close to Me, you can accomplish My purposes in My strength"
2 Corinthinas 5:7
Galatians 5:25
Blessings,

  1. God has a way of reaching through the finite ways of cyberspace. So glad I stumbled over from Shannan's site today. I'm a recently de-railed homesteader, wondering why I've read so much about chickens. Time will tell. May the Lord bless you & keep you in the days ahead.

  2. Girl, your heart is wide-open. I don't think anyone could ever misconstrue your intentions. It's good to share what God is doing in our lives, and it's ok to feel courage in Christ.

    love youn's.

  4. So I've gotta ask-- WHAT made you share a Lecrae song with me?? I am boggle-eyed over it. Allow me to explain why:

I had never heard of Lecrae, never listened to Christian rap, never listened to any rap (you know old school Will Smith doesn't count) until about a month ago. Then, during a life-changing vacation to South Carolina, my good friend Pat introduced me to Lecrae. She's a total international-minded white girl who loves Christian rap...and helped me to love it, too. Lecrae's story is similar to Corneal's-- a young man Pat is trying to mentor. I would love to tell you all about it, but it's a lengthy story and I know most people have limited time.

Bottom-line, my mind was reeling that you somehow got "Share Lecrae with this girl" from my very non-Lecrae-minded profile. Immediately made me wonder what God was up to. Please, I've gotta know what you were thinking.

    waiting with bated breath,
    Chris

  6. I'm checking with my friend Pat to see how much detail she thinks would be prudent to release onto the web. If she thinks I can put it all out there, I'll probably just make it a blog post. If she has reservations, I will probably drastically cut down the details and leave you another comment. Thanks for bearing with me!
