It Is Well

Take a minute to check out the story of Horatio Spafford, author of the beloved hymn,
"It is Well With My Soul".  It is an inspiring story that our dear preacher shared with us today.  Horatio endured such suffering in his life.  But he chose to "praise the Lord" instead of embrace the darkness that surrounded him.  It seems apropos for all of the various degrees of suffering I have witnessed this week.  God is with us in our times of suffering, in our seasons in the wilderness.  So important to remember since it is not a matter of if but when since we will all face trials in this life.
1. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
 when sorrows like sea billows roll;
 whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
 It is well, it is well with my soul.
 It is well, with my soul
 it is well, it is well with my soul.

2. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
 let this blest assurance control,
 that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
 and hath shed his own blood for my soul.

3. My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
 My sin, not in part but the whole,
 is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
 praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

4. And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
 the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
 the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
 even so, it is well with my soul.

I have shared three of my favorite renditions of this song on my playlist,
but nothing beats singing it in church surrounded by your children
and fellow believers..

Blessings,
